Wednesday’s Wonder: St. Charles Streetcar

This Wednesday’s Wonder: The St. Charles Streetcar in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The St. Charles streetcar is the oldest running street car in New Orleans. It’s also said to be the origin of the Po’ Boy during the segregation boycotts in the early 1900s. One thing’s for sure: don’t stick your head too far out the window while on the streetcar. Poles run very close to the car’s exterior (trust me, my forehead knows these things).
