Wednesday’s Wonder: “Let Down Your Hair” at Victoria Beach

This Wednesday’s Wonder: Victoria Beach, Laguna Beach, CA

Growing up in Orange County, I watched as Huntington Beach lost many of its wildlife, like starfish and sand dollars.

Victoria Beach, a tiny, secluded beach in Laguna Beach, seems to be the most “untouched” beach in Orange County. Because of the beach’s seclusion, little critters are abundant.

Neighboring homes rest atop cliffs and each home has either a staircase or a mechanical railway descending down the cliff to carry people down to the beach. But, one staircase in particular stands out the most:

Castle Turret A Castle Turret in Victoria Beach

A castle turret fashionably covers a set of stairs belonging to the house above. It stands out so noticeably that beach-goers can’t help but peak around and see what’s in there. Rapunzel is not in there, but it’s definitely one of the most interesting beaches in the area.
