Wednesday’s Wonder: The Bird Photobomb in Venice

This Wednesday’s Wonder: A bird photobombed our picture. What. a. d*bag.

When we started this blog, we wanted to show people what places really look like. Wannabe travelers often pour through dreamy photos of faraway locales. Everything just looks so darn pretty in a magazine. The truth is, a lot of those “dreamy” photos are doctored to take out the filth and romanticize places. We were surprised, but far from shocked, when we first stepped in to Paris. There were graffitti-ed walls; dog poop lined some sidewalks; the typical amount of trash expected in big cities and things were just a little bit dirty. This is what we expected of cities. However, it simply isn’t conveyed in many travel blogs’ and magazines’ photos.

That’s why we like the bird photobomb, like this one in Venice, Italy. It gives life to photos. It shows that people, animals and nature coexist in these places. In our opinion, these concepts make places “dreamy.”

Yes, that includes crowds, too.

You bird...always having to ground people in reality. You bird…always having to ground people in reality.
